============================================= 11/02/2004 How To Output a Transparent PSD File Various Composites with example images ============================================= Please DO play with the final image. Play with it a lot! I did! I resized super small and it is part of my mini cats in the cat eyes directory. http://www.scri8e.com/people/catZiz/mini/ I also animated it. http://www.scri8e.com/people/catZiz/mini/kitty6packANI.gif Put it on white jpg back http://www.scri8e.com/people/catZiz/mini/kitty6pack.jpg Put it on a clear back too. http://www.scri8e.com/people/catZiz/mini/kitty6pack1.gif Enhanced multiply'd and all kinds of stuff. http://www.scri8e.com/people/catZiz/mini/kttys6pack2.gif The thing about PSD files is that they manipulate resize & transparent beautifully! Hold their quality you bet. Thanks Mr. C! You have opened a whole other dimension to your AWESOME Magick Studios! I was also amazed at the speed in which Mr.C responded to our request. It's like he really wants us to explore this file type. Very kewl! Less than 3 days & he had it in place! That is why I put a wiggle on it to get the basic tute up for us to start exploring with. Let's give him the feedback he is looking for shall we? After all he has and continues to do for us. This is one way we can give back to him. ============================================= Storm writes: Now I have a question sir, where do we get more of those PSD files? Oh yeah and when I first made the xc image I made it transparent but when I composited the psd onto it the bg was white even in the second one in output so I went back to square one and made a black xc after compositing it looked like your example white center black edges and the second one all black like yours. The first one I made had maintained transparent edges even in output. But I like foolin around with it and I was fun and the final image is great looking! Storm ============================== Patrice responds: You can get more PSD files from yahoo tube groups, (although most are psp tubes) and there are a few (but very few ) sites in google search..I have been using PSD files for over 2years, as pair IM can convert them.... Tubes_To_GO yahoo groups has a lady that post most all psd tube files To get a transparent image from a psd file: Check Append, when you output, then the image will separate from the white bg, Then you use floodfill, and make the white bg transparent. It's best to go to gifworks, and smart crop the extra transparent area. Because when you use 'trim' @ IM, then use gifworks, it's weird, but gifworks still reads the height as if you didn't trim at IM, and the image will look stretched. BUT in that case, you can then then use the "smart crop", and it will be ok. Hugs, Patrice =============================================== Stardrops writes: If anyone with PSP would like to... (I'm sure many of you already know this) You can convert .psp's, & .tubs to .psd's for your WebTV Pals to use. Just open and click "save as" .psd~! :-)) ===============================================
